179: Cultural Intelligence Series - What it takes to move enterprise AI from partnership to production

Most enterprise AI projects start as a technology problem. They end as a data and culture problem.

Ankit Mathur, Partner Solutions Architect at AWS, joins the Cultural Intelligence Podcast with a perspective few people have: not from inside one enterprise, but from across an entire ecosystem of them. What he sees is illuminating, and occasionally surprising.

What do the organizations getting AI right share? Two things: they’re innovating faster than ever, and they’re treating their data strategy with the same seriousness as their AI strategy. Wondering about the ones struggling? Many are still chasing the biggest frontier models on the market, even when that’s rarely what the problem actually needs.

Ankit breaks down what separates a deployment that works from one that fails and we’re all ears. Here’s one sentence we particularly liked: “Don’t forget to own the business yourself. Don’t hand it over to AI.”

Partner Solutions Architect at AWS

Ankit Mathur is a Solutions Architect at AWS focused on modern data platforms, AI-driven analytics, and AWS–Partner integrations across the ISV ecosystem in EMEA. His role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, partner technology, and customer outcomes, bridging the gap between what ISV partners build and what joint customers need.

Day to day, Ankit works with ISV partners across data, AI, and customer engagement, helping them integrate deeply with AWS services, co-architect solutions for shared customers, and take joint propositions to market. His work spans everything from prototyping technical integrations and solving complex identity and security challenges to shaping go-to-market strategies and leading customer-facing sessions.

What Ankit enjoys most is taking a vague “we should work together” conversation and turning it into a concrete, deployable solution that genuinely moves the needle for a customer.

Based in London, he is always happy to connect, especially with those working at the intersection of cloud, data, and AI partnerships.
